Maryam is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and an active member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). With a background in medical sciences and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, she works with adults and seniors navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, and cultural identity.


As an immigrant and former physician, Maryam offers a unique perspective rooted in empathy and cultural sensitivity. She understands the complexities of change, belonging, and integrates this understanding into her therapeutic approach. Her work is collaborative and tailored, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and person-centered practices.


Maryam has also received certified training in Accelerated Resourcing, a therapeutic approach that helps clients process trauma-related issues, access inner strengths, calm overwhelming emotions, and build resilience. This gentle, supportive method can be integrated into therapy sessions to enhance coping skills, increase a sense of safety, and support healing.


Maryam provides therapy in English, Urdu, and Hindi, recognizing the importance of language and culture in feeling truly seen and understood.
